Nitin Vaingankar FRCS (Plast)
Mr Vaingankar qualified as a medical professional in 1986. He started further specialist training in plastic surgery in 1990 and currently works in the NHS as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the Northampton General Hospital. Mr Vaingankar offers private practice to his patients in the East Midlands area.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and has successfully passed the examination of the Intercollegiate Board in Plastic Surgery, the FRCS Plast. Having obtained the Certificate of Specialist Training in Plastic Surgery, he is on the Plastic Surgery Specialist Register of the General Medical Council (reg.no 4391533). He has also acquired the European Diploma in hand surgery and has presented at various Plastic Surgery meetings and published papers in journals on various aspects of the speciality.
Mr Vaingankar has obtained extensive experience in Plastic Surgery over the last 26 years, having worked both abroad and in the UK, training in Bristol, Liverpool, Norwich and Stevenage. He subsequently completed his training in London, working in prestigious Plastic Surgery units in hospitals such as Chelsea & Westminster, Charing Cross and Wexham Park Hospital. He then underwent further specialist training in hand surgery at the renowned St. Andrew’s Centre for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Essex.
Completing the Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship at the prestigious McIndoe Surgical Centre in East Grinstead, one of the largest specialist private plastic surgery hospitals in the world, has rendered Mr. Vaingankar well trained in all aspects of aesthetic surgery.
As a Consultant in the NHS at the Northampton General Hospital, his interests include aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, hand surgery and the management of skin cancers. He is also the Chairman of the Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary team at this hospital.
